Narayana Ninna naamadha (ನಾರಾಯಣ ನಿನ್ನ ನಾಮದ)

This kriti, composed by Shri Purandara Daasaru, expresses the longing of a devotee to chant or remember the Lord (Lord Narayana) and considers this as his ultimate source of spiritual strength and liberation.

I have tried giving the translation and word by word meaning.Trust this helps.

WORD BY WORD MEANING 
Narayana = O Narayana! 
Ninna = your 
Naamadha = name of which 
Smaraneya = the very thought of
Saaramrithavu = Saara + amritha = essence +the sweetest nectar
Enna= my
Naaligege = to my tongue
Barali= Let it come

Kashtadallirali= kashtadalli+ irali= whether in distress/trouble
uthkrushTadallirali= Uth+krushTadalli+ irali = whether in times of excellence/great time
Eshtaadaru = However
Mathigettirali = mathi + kettu+ irali = bad the situation is
Krishna Krishna = O Krishna O Krishna
Endu= by saying
Shishtaru = wise/respectable/Devotees
Peluva= To call out (another word for Heluva)
Ashtaakshara mahaa mantradha= Eight syllable great mantra called Om Namo Narayanaya)


Santhatha = Always/eternally
Hari = O Lord Hari!
Ninna = your
Saasiradha = a thousand 
Naamava= names
Antharangadalli= Deep inside my heart
Irisi= to keep
Entho= Somehow or the other
Purandara Vittala Rayana= Lord Purandara Vittala 
Anthya = end/at the time of death/last breath 
Kaaladalli = during that time
Chinthiso haage = make me remember/chant/think of you.

TRANSLATION 

ನಾರಾಯಣ ನಿನ್ನ ನಾಮದ ಸ್ಮರಣೆಯ, ಸಾರಾಮೃತವು ಎನ್ನ ನಾಲಿಗೆಗೆ ಬರಲಿ
Narayana ninna naamadha smaraNeya Saaraamruthavu enna naaligege barali
O Narayana! the very thought of your name is the essence of the sweetest nectar, so please let that nectar come to me (my tongue)

ಕಷ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿರಲಿ ಉತ್ಕೃಷ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿರಲಿ
Kashtadallirali uthkrushTadallirali
Whether in times of distress or in the times of excellence/great time

ಎಷ್ಟಾದರೂ ಮತಿಗೆಟ್ಟು ಇರಲಿ
Eshtaadaru mathigettu irali
Whatever may be the situation, 

ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಕೃಷ್ಣಾ
Oh Krishna, Krishna

ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಕೃಷ್ಣಾ ಎಂದು ಶಿಷ್ಟರು ಪೇಳುವ
Krishna krishnaa endu shishTaru peLuva
The wise/respectable people call out for Krishna, 

ಅಷ್ಟಾಕ್ಷರ ಮಹಾ ಮಂತ್ರದ ನಾಮವ
Ashtaakshara mahaa mantradha naamavaa
the name which is embodied in the powerful eight syllable ashtaakshara mahaa mantra (Om Namo Narayanaya)

ಸಂತತ ಹರಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಾಸಿರದ ನಾಮವ, ಅಂತರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಿಸಿ ಎಂತೋ 
Santhatha Hari ninna saasiradha naamava, antharangadalli irisi entho
O Hari!! Always help me to chant your thousand names and keep you deep inside my heart somehow or the other

ಪುರಂದರ ವಿಠಲ ರಾಯನ,ಅಂತ್ಯ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಂತಿಸೋ ಹಾಗೆ
Purandara Vittala raayana anthya kaaladalli chinthiso haage 
And keep chanting the Name of Purandara Vittala even during my last breath/at the time of my death.
